Yes…I said purple. I’m so much more into the purple than the pink if this is a girl I’m carrying. But, that’s the leading question isn’t it? Is this a Miss or Mr. Peanut? Well, some have strong feelings one way or the other. Troy and I really don’t. Very early in pregnancy, I had a dream or two where I was caring for some little boys, though it wasn’t clear if they were supposed to be mine. That being said, I’ve had dreams with little girls too. I know some moms say they just knew right away (and maybe this is a bad sign for me being a mom!) but I just can’t say I “know.” Here are some of the theories that we’ve heard:
> Girls usually have higher heartbeats (like in the 160s)
> You crave sweets with girls and savory/salty foods with boys (depending on the day, I crave either…although, I really will hurt you if you try to take my sweets away…)
> You are more sick if it’s a boy because of your system not appreciating the extra testosterone (well…sick I have been for…oh, geez…I stopped counting the weeks/mths)
> Having an aversion to white meat means it’s a boy and having an aversion to red meat means it’s a girl (Chicken is evil…evil, I tell you!)
> Carrying a certain way (Sorry…can’t help you here…at this point, I’m just carrying a bit more belly than I had before…)
> I can just see you more with a girl/boy
> I dreamed this is what you were having
So, there you have it…clear as mud…LOL! Well, we have a fetal anatomy ultrasound on April 14th and so long as Peanut is feeling cooperative and not shy, we are hoping to find out the answer to the “purple or blue” question. If you have any thoughts/theories, feel free to comment and be sure to place your vote on the poll off to the side of the blog. Thanks!
